2026 Joint Transnational Call: What, why, when and how
What
A 2026 call for proposals on resolving unsolved cases in rare genetic and non-genetic diseases, focusing on diagnosing undiagnosed or complex rare conditions through advanced functional, genomic, multi-omics, modelling, and AI-based approaches.
Why
To address persistent diagnostic gaps in rare diseases, support patient-need driven research, and enable multinational, interdisciplinary collaboration that ultimately benefits patients.
When
- Call launch: 10 December 2025.
- Information webinar: 16 December 2025.
- Pre-proposals due: 12 February 2026.
- Full proposals due: 8 July 2026.
- Funding decisions: December 2026.
Who
Researchers from academia, clinical/public health institutions, enterprises (including SMEs), and patient advocacy organisations. Consortia must include 4–6 partners from at least 4 countries (up to 8 in specific cases).
Where
Open to partners from participating countries across Europe, associated states, and Canada. Coordination handled by the Joint Call Secretariat (ANR, France).

The call, “Resolving unsolved cases in rare genetic and non-genetic diseases”, aims to accelerate diagnosis, strengthen international research partnerships, and deliver tangible benefits for patients. 🤝🧬
Eligible applicants include academia, clinical and public health teams, enterprises (including SMEs), and patient organisations.
